Fitness and dance have always been an important part of Abla Hamza-Milner's life. She danced ballet for 13 years as well as trained for several years in modern, jazz, and flamenco dance. Even while earning her BA in Anthropology from UT Austin, she continued to fulfill her passion for dance, and soon after graduating performed professionally as a dancer with the Dallas Opera and Conte de Loyo Flamenco Dance Company. In 2000, while pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, she completed an AFAA certification and began teaching group fitness. Following the AFAA certification, she went on to receive certifications in Pilates (Power Pilates Beginner Mat) as well as several other group fitness certifications which she taught from 2001-2006 in the Dallas Metroplex.
After moving to Philadelphia in 2007, Abla immediately completed Power Pilates Intermediate Mat to expand her Pilates knowledge. As she taught Pilates more, Abla became excited to see the benefits to better posture, strength, and overall fitness. She completed a Power Pilates Comprehensive Certification with Karen Pecarsky at Urbanfront Pilates in 2011 as well as a PMA certification in 2012, and she has been teaching equipment as well as mat pilates since then. In 2013, she received a Vbarre certification.
